General discussions on Wheelmen topics. / Ohio activities this year
« Last post by DelombardR on February 17, 2020, 10:29:43 PM »
FYI
I have an on-line schedule of Ohio and area Wheelmen activities.
The location is:  http://ohiowheelmen.org/owpages/schedule.html

Please let me know if you want to participate in these.  Of course, for the out-of-state events, contact the appropriate person.

One not on the schedule is a non-Wheelmen event called TOSRV, a two-day, 200 mile weekend in mid-May. Weather permitting, I plan to ride my 57" Columbia Light Roadster.  Anyone want to join in on a high wheel or antique safety?

A few of us are also talking about doing a group ride on a trail this spring.

Find Ed Grace, he is the rambler guru, and has been very generous with his help in the past. He is John Grace's brother.

General discussions on Wheelmen topics. / Ongoing Redesign of the Website
« Last post by Eric Knight on February 11, 2020, 09:03:31 PM »
The Wheelmen website underwent some changes at the end of last year and Phase II of enhancements is now under development.
Back in July at the Annual Meeting in Sedalia, MO I announced an initiative to update and improve the website to make it
more modern and user friendly. This plan has also been communicated in the Wheelmen Magazine and Newsletter.

Phase I was a face lift and gave the club better capabilities to administer some sections of the website. Phase II will focus
on improving this message board and establishing paid members only access for some pages of the website. Improvements will
also be made to the club photos and video sharing pages.

A Phase III is also planned which hopes to improve the administration of membership as well as other possible changes.

Enhancements to the website have long been wished for and with this initiative the club is investing significant funds
and volunteer time to move thewheelmen.org/com website forward as a valuable tool for our paying members and the public.

The estimated time of delivery for the Phase II updates is within two months.

Kind regards,

Eric Knight

I'd like the pdf file for my display events. Can you post the full-res version to the Facebook group? There's no reason I can think of to limit its distribution; it is after all for membership recruitment.

Someone on here - Craig Allen? - sold me a whole NOS bottom bracket set for my 1899 Rambler.

General discussions on Wheelmen topics. / Re: New TheWheelmen "look"

The previous site actually did not work just fine; it was difficult to maintain or even update, then our webmaster resigned. This new one is much easier to add new content to and, as the redesign progresses, will hopefully do more things for us.

Ron Miller, good detective work, permitted file type and size would good information to know before creating a post. I looked under the Wheelmen site Help menu but this is all that I could find "The permitted file types and sizes are set by the forum administrator". Absolutely no indication of what those requirements might be. It would be very helpful if the administrator would provide the file type and size requirements at the top of the forum page or at least in the help menu so we know before hand what file types and sizes will work and what will not.

Hello all,    I also had problems but eventually realized that if I reduced the file size it shouldld work. And it did.  There are a few ways to reduce the file size.  Crop the photos I think helps.  Reduce the resolution is the best I think.  Other more knowledgable computer types may know other ways.
Good luck,
Ron
