Look at E Bay heading as noted in the title.
Hopefully, someone can post the link and a photo.
Could this possibly be a period piece? While, there are signs that show age and construction techniques from the era, there are other indications that were not developed yet. Mainly, electric welding. Note the crank and axle welds. The welds at the "loop" spring in the rear suspension.
My intuition tells me that this is from someone's imagination and made in Thailand or India as a "art" piece.

You are correct. It is a reproduction made around 25-30 years ago. I found one back then, and still have it.

Wayne could you post a photo of yours when you have a free moment ????
With that we could all do our own comparison to decide if this one is what we think it is.

At least the Seller has now posted a revision on the listing suggesting that it's not a period item from the 1880's

I totally agree with Keith and Wayne. I saw the same thing out here in California at about the same time period.
I'm happy with my reproduction Hobby Horse and Boneshaker I made in 1975.

Even after the seller got a message and added the disclaimer "this could possibly be made in the 1900's" they just keep bidding.......Ughhhh :P. What did Forrest Gump say..."You can't fix stupid".

I tried to post a photo of my childs boneshaker, but this site would not except my attachments. Mine is identical to the one on ebay.

Wayne, I feel your pain. I cant post a photo either.
The boneshaker sold for $1225.00

Hey, guys. Two ways to add photos or images.
A.
Click on the + Attachments and other options item below this big text box when you are creating a post or a reply. Clicking that opens up some options where you can BROWSE your computer to upload an image or picture file.
Then you can hit the (MORE ATTACHMENTS) to add more.
B.
If you want to add an image that is on-line, then you need to click that first teenie-tiny icon in the second row of teenie-tiny icons. That will insert the following code into your text. Leave the cursor (kinda hard to see it in-between them, but then insert the on-line address for your image. (http://)

Thanks Richard, That does not work.

I'll create a separate discussion to show the steps.
