In the mass of antique bicycle catalogs I am currently selling there are both the 1895 and 1897 advanced and regular catalog showing mans, ladies, mans-mans and mans-ladies tandems of the Thistle brand.
There are no head badge shots in the catalogs but both covers show a flowering design with thistles within the flowers.
Both catalogs for $200 and are rare as a lot of my catalogs that I am selling are a mix of well known brands and also the obscure brands.

Anyone looking for original catalogs for their bicycles should contact me and I can email you a PDF of all the catalogs I have listed so far as I go through this mountain of amazing paper.

I agree that joining The Wheelmen gives you A LOT OF RESOURCES concerning antique bicycles via bi-annual magazines, quarterly newsletters, club rides and a wealth of lifetime members who are very helpful and excited to help with your antique bicycle(s). The stability of The Wheelmen club goes back decades and anyone interested in antique bicycles should look at a membership as an investment in their education that I cannot recommend enough.
As the years of your club membership go by and those years turn into decades, you will be pleased with the choice you have made from day one to the many decades ahead that many (including myself) have done.
You will make many friends along your journey that share your interests.
For the cost of membership, it's the best money you will spend on and for yourself.

Some days I amaze myself and others leave me wondering like when I am looking for my cell phone and then realize I am talking on it.

Original 1883 and 1884 COLUMBIA catalogs just added to the FOR SALE inventory catalog listings.

The FIRST EDITION printed in 1956 of the hard bound book RIDING HIGH still in it's original color paper jacket has been added FOR SALE.

An amazing original hard bound book(only one I know of that exists) of original PATENTS FOR VELOCIPEDES 1830-1882 has been added FOR SALE.

Soon I will be compiling a list of original catalogs from independent bicycle parts manufacturing companies that specialized in supplying their parts/products to the major makers of bicycles dealing with: sprockets, bearings, cranks, pedals, pedal rubbers, handlebars, hand grips, frames and frame lugs, saddles, riding shoes, riding apparel, tires(solid and pneumatic), inner tubes, spokes, rims, hubs, wooden wheels, laced metal wheels, tools, chains, etc and cyclometers, lamps and sundries - ALL SPANNING FROM THE HIGH WHEEL ERA INTO THE TOC BICYCLE ERA.
There is a wealth of descriptive knowledge and pictorial information to be learned from all this original documentation to say the least.

I have almost everything listed in a PDF format thanks to Richard Delombard so you can email me and I can send you the listings of catalogs for sale.
Again, I still have about 200 more to record and will get to it when I can.
I will also monitor and remove SOLD CATALOGS from this list to keep it up to date.
Thanks for your patience,

Your photo shows a seat post known as a "hairpin" style seat post.
I will look to see if I have this style or the "L" pattern.
From the photo you posted it looks like a Kirkpatrick saddle found on Columbia and other make bicycles of the era.
What make, model and year bicycle is it going on as these posts varied in diameters between the seat and bicycle manufacturers.
