Wanted Solid Seat Post 5/8" for Early Pneumatic Safety
« on: November 03, 2019, 02:46:29 PM »
Hello All

I am looking for a solid rod style seat post for a circa 1893 women's pneumatic safety. My first choice of style would be to find a post with a loop like a reverse question mark. My second choice is for a simple "L" shaped post.

Diameter of the rod is 5/8 inch. I am looking for a post from this time period - early 1890's

Any have a post in their "spares box" ?

Many thanks

Glenn

Your photo shows a seat post known as a "hairpin" style seat post.
I will look to see if I have this style or the "L" pattern.
From the photo you posted it looks like a Kirkpatrick saddle found on Columbia and other make bicycles of the era.
What make, model and year bicycle is it going on as these posts varied in diameters between the seat and bicycle manufacturers.
