Victory rims
« on: November 01, 2018, 11:01:47 AM »
Now that Victory bicycles are closing, I'm in need of two 48" rims, for 3/4" or 7/8" tires. Also a 18" rim, 3/4". If anyone has rims in these sizes that Diane made, please contact me. Thank you. Unfortunately my work schedule won't last indefinitely.

Have you talked to Diane?  She may still be making them

Unfortunately and sadly she is not responding. I talked with Al last week and  he hasn't heard from her. It takes two people to operate the rim building machine.

Craig, I have been waiting for the Carters to give me the size rims they needed.  48" but what width?  Jeff and I can roll rims, but have had a hard time getting Al to weld them.  I will end up taking them to another shop that can do the job.  (my welding on lightweight stuff is still in the learning stage)  I think I have a 3/4 x 18", undrilled, in stock.  Do you want me to ship it to you?
I do not answer the Victory e-mails because I get accused of looking at porn (????!!) if I am on the shop computer.  Al has been bad about answering them lately.

Diane, Thank you kindly. I need two 48" x 3/4". Also one 18" x 3/4". If you have a 18" in stock undrilled, that will be fine. I will take it. Please go ahead and ship it. I think shipping the 48" rims via Fastenal will work.

Craig, sounds like Diane is going to be able to supply your needs, but I think UPS is a much easier solution for shipping. The rims can be wrapped in cardboard and shipped for a pretty reasonable fee with UPS, I bet they even pickup from Diane now.

I will get the 18" out next week and let you know when we can roll the 48's.  It might be a while, so please don't hold your breath waiting.
