Richard,  I would recommend placing a post on The Cabe. It will expand your search. I will keep my eyes open in case I stumble upon one some where. Nice piece to have.

Ed,  Years ago I had to replace the string on a ladies saftey. Way before computers. I used braided fishing line. It was available in many colors. I found one that was tan with a repeating pattern. It looked good when completed. You can also create your own pattern of lacing if you do not have an original one that you need to copy.

55inchwheel,  You are correct. It scared me when I saw the unknown script. Knowing the Wheelmen site is not secure, it concerned me that a hacker may have infiltrated this site. My concern was for all members to be cautious when the unknown appears. By the way, I did not open that post and will not open any that may be in a different language other than english.
If you have opened it maybe you can share with rest of us.

Administrator,  I realize the Wheelmen website is Not A Secure Site. Please assure me that it is safe to open the post about the black coffee show. As I am not fluent in Ukrain I d`not understand what the topic says.

Craig,  The Homer bicycle was also produced in Vineland. But I am not sure if they were a manufacturer or if they assembled generic parts and put there own head badge with a homing pigeon as there logo.

Thanks, Wayne

I am looking for New Jersey manufactured bicycles. Preferably original paint and accessories. Also, South Jersey most preferred, including head badges, literature, adds, and all memorabilia.

I agree. This here computerized system is a little difficult for some of us old timers that does not have the time to be learned new devices. I used to read the old site regularly. I now review this site about 3 times a day hoping I will find a good deal. But I have not found one yet. If you follow the CABE, that is where the action is. Now, the old Wheelmen site was quite interesting and humorous until some of the top notch knowledgeable old time Wheelmen were kicked off this site. It has been down hill ever since. Hopefully they will be invited back to participate on this site, while these people can answer a lot of questions from the knowledge in there heads. Then we will all be able to play nice again.

Lorne,  You never cease to amaze me. Just a little narrative of this Motion. My memory is getting a little sketchy these days. I think Martin Scorsese was the director. In the beginning you see some safeties.I believe that was Gert Jon Moed, Ron Miller and Glen Norcliff. Part way through is Rick Wolf riding a cripper trike with a basket pedaling stuff for sale. Later is Curtis Anthony walking a long side of his wheel. Such a wonderful piece of history. OH, ITS ALL STARTING TO COME BACK TO ME NOW.

30 years ago they would fetch up to $150, especially if it was sold on west coast. I have 3 different ones at Popes various ages. I am not sure but there may be 4 different ones. Ed Berry is the person that could tell you anything you want to know.

Mike,   There is a family connection. It is a distant relation. But quite exciting and gives me the drive to continue looking for anything related to the Batten Bicycle.

Hello Wheelmen,      I have been looking for a Batten Bicycle  manufactured in Millville N.J. for 30 years. With the help of Craig Allen and others I have two original receipts and an original head badge. I do have copies of newspaper articles from the period. From memory, the Batten Brothers were in business from 1895-1898. So, if anyone has any information, copies or anything original related to the Batten Bicycle, and is willing to sell, ( Ultimately a Bicycle ) please correspond with me.

Than You All,  Wayne R. Batten

Contact Walter Branche. He would know if there is an original or copy any where in the world. Walter may even have one.
